Masterson’s Pub , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment became a nightmarish ordeal . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I experienced behind its threshold was appalling and beyond comprehension .
The State of the Venue : Grimy and Abandoned
From the moment I walked in , it was apparent that cleanliness was not a priority at this venue. The floorboards were filthy, and a foul smell of uncleaned spills and uncleaned toilets filled the entire bar . Reeking of a mixture of ammonia , old age and sickness . The serving zone , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and litter that looked like it had been ignored for a long time .
